Friday Drops: Basketball, The Fair, and Long Talks with My Mom-in-Law
Toronto is maybe the perfect place to staycation
We’ve been having a delightful staycation in Toronto since last Wednesday, when Bilbo went out on the town and charmed everyone. In that time, we’ve eaten much too much delicious food, enjoyed delightful company, and just generally relaxed. I find Toronto a gorgeous city - I know the general consensus is it’s corporate and less exciting than Montreal, but I think it’s the bee’s knees.
This week’s gratitude journal of things that brought me joy include:
Playing basketball at the nearby park with the kiddos. There are certain activities that you can use as markers for your kids’ growth, and basketball is one of them. You can see how high or far they can throw, how much better their accuracy has become, and how much more easily they’ll beat you. But more importantly, you can also see how the game no longer involves meltdowns, how the constant arguing that marred their younger childhood is dissipating.
