Friday Drops: Charcuterie, Barbecue, and an Overactive Social Schedule

As part of my conscious attempt to be more present and more grateful, I’ve started Friday Drops, a gratitude journal of sorts. Every Friday I will bring you a list of things that brought me joy during the past week. This week’s Friday Drops are food, friend, and family centric.

During the long, fraught days early in the pandemic, I ate my feelings. More specifically, there came a point where I ate my feelings in a poor man’s charcuterie board nearly every night. We had moved to Chelsea, Quebec a few months before the shutdown, and were so happy to make friends with an awesome couple who seemed to find us as delightful as we found them. Even better, our boys were the same age and got along wonderfully. One of our last social engagements before everyone went into isolation was to have their family over, and we had made an Arab-fusion charcuterie board of sorts, including slices of baguett…
