Companion Piece for Paid Subscribers - The Quran Still Speaks (to my word-loving heart)
Arabic and English Audio Companion for the first entry of the Salah Series
Welcome to Letters from a Muslim Woman,
This is a companion bonus for paid subscribers to go with the essay The Quran Still Speaks (to my word-loving heart).
In this piece, I am providing a recording of myself reciting all the Quran that I mention through out the essay. This includes:
Al-Fatiha - the opening
The 2nd last verse of Surat Al-Kahf - the chapter of the Cave
The 3 Quls
I’m also reciting the English translations. You may notice that the recitation is melodic - this is because the Quran is recited in a special manner called tajweed. Tajweed literally translates to mean, “to perfect, to beautify, or to improve”.
